Since 1949, Bujosa Artesania Tèxtil has preserved the tradition of Mallorcan ikat fabrics, combining family craftsmanship, century-old looms and contemporary design.

In the heart of Santa Maria del Camí, Bujosa Artesania Tèxtil preserves one of Mallorca’s most distinctive traditional crafts. Founded in 1949, this family workshop has passed down the knowledge required to produce the island’s traditional ikat fabrics, locally known as roba de llengües, through three generations.

Their characteristic blurred patterns are created through a meticulous artisanal process. The threads are prepared, tied and dyed before being woven, producing unique compositions in which every colour and shape reflects Mallorca’s creative identity.

The workshop’s century-old looms transform cotton, linen and other natural fibres into textiles filled with texture, history and character. In this way, Mallorcan ikat fabrics remain an important part of the island’s cultural and creative heritage.

Bujosa Artesania Tèxtil preserves the foundations of Mallorca’s textile tradition while exploring new colours, combinations and designs. Alongside its ikat fabrics, the workshop produces plain, striped and mottled textiles, as well as collections made from linen and silk.
